Cam Heyward on going against his brother Conner in training camp: ‘I’m going to throw him on his ass’

When it comes to brotherly love, no team does it quite like the Pittsburgh Steelers. When the Steelers selected former Michigan State fullback/tight end Connor Heyward in the sixth round, he and Cam Heyward formed the fourth pair of brothers on the Steelers roster.

But if you think big brother Cam is going to take it easy on the rookie, think again. The elder Heyward was asked what it would be like going against Connor at training camp and Cam made it clear he would “throw him on his ass.”

It might seem like drafting Heyward was more about publicity than anything but make no mistake, Heyward can play. Having moved between running back and tight end, Heyward should be able to carve out a role on offense either as a backup running back, starting fullback or even as a move tight end in Matt Canada’s offense.
