If you’re confused about the Rams making Cam Akers a healthy scratch on Sunday against the 49ers, you’re not alone. Akers himself seems baffled by what’s transpiring based on his cryptic post, which appears to be in response to Jay Glazer’s report about Akers’ demotion and potential trade out of Los Angeles.

Akers shared the following post on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying he’s “just as confused as everybody else.”

Akers led the Rams with 22 carries last week but after turning those attempts into only 29 yards, the Rams seem headed toward leaning on Kyren Williams as their lead back.

The team also promoted Royce Freeman from the practice squad for Sunday’s game, while Ronnie Rivers and Zach Evans are also on the roster. Though, Evans was also a healthy scratch.
