Monarchs top Week 6 Rankings

Mater Dei is the number one team for the fifth week as we enter the sixth full week of football in Southern California.

Here are the rankings of our Week 6 rankings (prior week’s rankings in parentheses).

1. Mater Dei (5-0) (1)

The Monarchs had a bye. They play Santa Margarita on Friday at Laguna Hills High School.

2. St. John Bosco (4-1) (2)

The Braves had a bye. They play Orange Lutheran at Orange Coast College on Friday.

3. Centennial (3-1) (3)

The Huskies had a bye. Their two week break is over, as they play at Roosevelt on Friday.

4. Mission Viejo (6-0) (4)

The Diablos beat El Toro 49-17. Joey Yellen threw for 339 yards and 4 touchdowns. Chris Mitchell had 109 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. UCLA commit Olaijah Griffin had 152 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns, while Washington commit Austin Osborne had 145 yards and a score.

They host Tesoro on Friday.

5. Chaminade (5-1) (5)

The Eagles beat Serra 37-32. Boise State commit Andrew VanBuren had 332 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns. Blake Antzoulatos had 18 tackles on defense.

They have a bye this week.

6. Long Beach Poly (4-1) (6)

The Jackrabbits beat Wilson 56-0. Matt Corral threw for 457 yards and 5 touchdowns and added 2 rushing touchdowns. Darius Kryger had 99 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.

They host Cabrillo at Veterans Stadium on Friday.

7. Rancho Cucamonga (5-0) (7)

The Cougars beat Victor Valley 49-0. Nick Acosta threw for 132 yards and 3 touchdowns. Sean Dollars had a rushing touchdown and a 99 yard kickoff return for touchdown. Benjamin Constuble had an interception return for touchdown.

They host Upland on Friday.

8. JSerra (5-0) (8)

The Lions had a bye. They play Servite at Cerritos College on Friday.

9. Servite (5-0) (9)

The Friars had a bye. They play JSerra at Cerritos College on Friday.

10. San Clemente (6-0) (10)

The Tritons beat Edison 23-20. Brendan Costello threw and ran for touchdowns. Austin Whitsett had 137 rushing yards. Tristan Trager made 3 field goals.

They have a bye this week.
