Monarchs top Week 4 Rankings

Mater Dei is the number one team for the third week as we enter the fourth full week of football in Southern California.

Here are the Week 4 rankings (prior week's rankings in parentheses).

1. Mater Dei (4-0) (1)

The Monarchs beat Bergen Catholic on Saturday 62-14. J.T. Daniels threw for 299 yards and had 5 touchdowns. Amon-Ra St. Brown had 147 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. They play St. Mary’s of Stockton at the home of the San Francisco 49ers, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Saturday.

2. St. John Bosco (3-1) (2)

The Braves beat Dorsey 69-14. Re-Al Mitchell threw for 269 yards and 4 touchdowns. Nathaniel Jones had 2 rushing touchdowns. Ohio State commit Jaiden Woodbey had a defensive touchdown, as Kedron Williams intercepted a pass and pitched it to him as he ran for a score. They play at St. John’s of Washington D.C. on Saturday.

3. Corona Centennial (3-1) (3)

The Huskies beat Narbonne 42-6. Tanner McKee had 256 passing yards and a touchdown. Octavio Cortes had 120 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Thomas Kinslow had 70 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. They have a bye this week.

4. Mission Viejo (4-0) (4)

The Diablos beat Long Beach Poly 12-7. UCLA commit Olaijah Griffin had a 57-yard interception return for touchdown. Arizona State commit Christian LaValle had a team high 16 tackles on a defense that forced 4 interceptions led by Alex Jemal’s two picks. They play at Santa Margarita at Trabuco Hills on Friday.

5. Chaminade (3-1) (6)

The Eagles beat Bakersfield 43-14. Ryan Stevens threw for 159 yards and 3 touchdowns. Michael Wilson had 3 receiving touchdown. The defense had 5 interceptions. They play at Crespi on Friday.

6. Long Beach Poly (2-1) (5)

The Jackrabbits lost 12-7 to Mission Viejo. Raymond Graham had a 3 yard touchdown as Poly’s only points in a defensive battle. They play at Millikan on Friday.

7. Rancho Cucamonga (3-0) (7)

The Cougars beat Bishop Amat 31-7. Nick Acosta threw for 265 yards and a touchdown. Sean Dollars had 2 rushing touchdowns. They host Citrus Hill on Friday.

8. JSerra (4-0) (10)

The Lions beat Vista Murrieta 26-9. Al Fisher had a pair of rushing touchdowns. Matt Robinson threw a pair of touchdowns to TJ Medina and Munir McClain. They host Los Alamitos on Friday.

9. Servite (4-0) (NR)

The Friars enter the rankings following a 47-14 win over Villa Park. Tyler McMahon threw for 112 yards and 3 touchdowns. He added 2 rushing touchdowns. Titus Toler had an interception return for touchdown. They play at Garfield on Friday.

10. San Clemente (4-0) (NR)

The Tritons enter the rankings following a 62-27 win over previously ranked Murrieta Valley. Brendan Costello threw for 218 yards and 4 touchdowns and also rushed for 101 yards and a score. Austin Whitsett had 144 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. They play Palos Verdes at El Camino College on Friday.
