The Bears have found their kicker.

Against the Packers in Week 17, Cairo Santos hit a 30-yard field goal to give the Bears a 10-7 lead over the Packers and with it set a record.

It was Santos' 25th-consecutive made field goal, a new franchise record in a single season.

And then he extended the record with a 27-yard field goal late in the second quarter, which also tied Robbie Gould's record for longest consecutive field goal streak in Bears' franchise history.

And he extended the single-season record and took sole possession of the franchise record with a 20-yard field goal in the third quarter.

It's a welcome relief for Bears fans to find a solution at kicker. Their magical 2018 season was undone when Cody Parkey clanged a game-winning field goal attempt against not one, but two posts.

It would go down in infamy as the "double doink."

Then the Bears brought in numerous kicks for an insane kicking competition that included having each kicker trying to make a 43-yard field, the distance Parkey missed from, in front of a silent, watching team to try and create some kind of pressure cooker.

In the end, Eddy Piñeiro won the job for the 2019 season and made 23 of 28 field goal attempts. He entered the 2020 training camp competing for the job, quickly won it but then was sidelined with an injury that cleared the path for Cairo Santos.

Santos has been incredibly reliable and it's hard to imagine a situation where he isn't the Bears' kicker in 2021.
