Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland is being considered for an England recall, national manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed.
The 30-year-old, who has nine caps, has not been called up since June 2019, but his form for the Scottish Premiership side means he is back "on the radar" after impressing England goalkeeping coach Martyn Margetson.
Everton's Jordan Pickford is established as number one, but recent back-ups Sam Johnstone and Aaron Ramsdale have fallen down the pecking order at Crystal Palace and Arsenal respectably, while Newcastle United's experienced Nick Pope is out through injury.
"It is up in the air - I can't deny that," Southgate said. "So, again, we have to make sure we're watching everybody - Jack Butland included - because he's obviously playing at a big club and is an experienced keeper.
"It's not an ideal situation with Aaron not playing, Sam at the moment not playing and Nick injured. We'll have to see how it plays out."
