Bumper Pool to decide on future with Arkansas by week’s end

Arkansas linebacker Bumper Pool has long been considered the key question for the Razorbacks defense in the offseason of 2022. Even before the 2021 season was out, folks wondered out loud whether Pool would return for a fifth season.

Apparently, everyone will know by the end of the week.

Pool, who led Arkansas and was 10th in FBS with 125 tackles, said on a radio interview with KABZ on Wednesday he was waiting to think about until after the Hogs’ bowl game.

“This is one of the toughest decisions I’ve had to make, not that I’ve had to make a lot of tough decisions, but I’m going to take the next couple of days,” Pool said. “I kind of set a deadline for Friday. Whatever happens between then and there, I want to make a decision Friday, come out with it and be 100% on board with it and live with it.”

The Razorbacks lost a potential fifth-year returner Wednesday when safety Joe Foucha, a captain on the defense this past season, announced he was entering the transfer portal.
