Badet, an undrafted prospect out of Oklahoma in 2018, spent his first season on the Vikings practice squad. The ensuing year he played in the XFL and then returned to the NFL in 2020.. After tryouts with the Bears and Panthers last offseason, the Football Team scooped him up in September.

In the regular season, Badet has only appeared in three games, all of which occurred last season. He played 21 snaps on offense in that time with the Football Team, but did not attempt any kick returns.

Currently the frontrunner for the Bills’ return specialist job is Isaiah McKenzie. However, the Bills have continued to address training camp competition for him throughout this offseason. Other related moves by the Bills include the signing of free agent Brandon Powell and selection of Marquez Stevenson in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL draft.

Earlier this offseason, the Bills lose their previously kick returner, Andre Roberts, via free agency to the Texans.
