Bucs’ Calijah Kancey, SirVocea Dennis ruled out for MNF game vs. Eagles

TAMPA — Calijah Kancey won’t get to add to the 11 defensive snaps he has played this season when the Bucs host the Eagles on Monday Night Football.

The Bucs’ first-round pick and his Pittsburgh teammate, linebacker SirVocea Dennis, are the only players that coach Todd Bowles would rule out on Saturday.

Kancey aggravated a calf injury in the season opener at Minnesota, and Dennis has a hamstring strain.

The good news is that the Bucs have a chance to get the rest of their injured players back. Linebacker Devin White (groin), defensive tackle Vita Vea (pectoral), guard Cody Mauch (back) and cornerback Carlton Davis (toe) all will be game-time decisions, Bowles said.

“Hopefully, with two more days they get a chance to heal up a little more and should be okay by Monday. We’ll see,” Bowles said.

Davis, who did not play last week, had six tackles against the Vikings in the opener and batted away Kirk Cousins’ final pass to seal the win for the Bucs.
