Bucks' Antetokounmpo (ankle) won't play vs. Bulls

Milwaukee All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo won't be available for the Bucks for their game against the Chicago Bulls on Friday night as he continues to recover from a sprained ankle

Antetokounmpo left the Bucks' Wednesday loss to the Los Angeles Clippers in the second quarter and did not return after turning his right ankle.

Interim coach Joe Prunty didn't give a timeline for Antetokounmpo's return, but also didn't seem concerned it would be a lengthy absence, according to an ESPN report, which also says the versatile Bucks star didn't travel with the team to Chicago and underwent an MRI on the ankle.

Antetokounmpo seemed to twist the ankle when he tripped on teammate Shabazz Muhammad under their own basket, but he did not leave the game until a couple of series later, noticeably limping and looking unhappy.

The forward left the game with about four minutes remaining after producing 12 points, two rebounds and two assists in 17 minutes.

Antetokounmpo is averaging 27.5 points and 10.1 rebounds for Milwaukee, which is in the final playoff spot at eighth in the Eastern Conference, 5.5 games ahead of the Detroit Pistons.

The Bucks (37-34) have 11 games left in the regular season.
