Bryce Young will not throw at 2023 NFL scouting combine

Former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young will be present for the 2023 NFL draft combine, but will not participate in throwing drills, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.

Young injured his AC joint against Arkansas during the 2022 season, but it is fully healed. Sitting out drills is likely a move that says he doesn’t have much else to prove. The tape speaks for itself.

It also encourages NFL scouts and coaches to visit Tuscaloosa. Young will reportedly throw at the Crimson Tide’s pro day.

At this point, NFL front offices are likely more interested in speaking with him and seeing his official measurements. One of the only downsides about Young has been his size.

Many have debated his actual height and weight and how it would affect his draft position. The last time an Alabama player’s size was mentioned ahead of the draft was for another Heisman winner, wide receiver DeVonta Smith. He just put up impressive numbers in the Super Bowl. So, maybe this whole conversation is just a talking point rather than proper analysis.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Bryce Young and former Alabama players preparing for the 2023 NFL draft.
