Harper was officially placed on paternity leave by the Phillies on August 23 and used all of the available three days to stay with his family. According to MLB.com, Harper is expected to be back with the club tonight as the Phillies open a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Phillies will welcome Harper's return. During his absence, the Phillies lost 2-of-3 games to the last-place Miami Marlins and now sit third in the NL East and one-and-a-half games out of the Wild Card race behind the Chicago Cubs.
