Boston Bruins fans are focused on the present right now with the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs set to begin early next week, but there are also reasons to be optimistic about the team's future.

One of them is the performance of top prospect Fabian Lysell.

Boston's 2021 first-round draft pick is dominating the first round of the WHL playoffs for the Vancouver Giants with eight points (one goal, seven assists) in three games against the Everett Silvertips.

A real Stanley Cup contender? Bruins make statement with win vs. Panthers

The Swedish right winger tallied five (!) points in Game 1, including the assist on the overtime winner, and he scored his first playoff goal in Game 3.

Lysell is in his first year with the Giants. He tallied a team-leading 62 points (22 goals, 40 assists) in 53 games during the regular season. The 19-year-old forward has impressive offensive skill, both as a goal scorer and a playmaker.

Lysell has a chance to make the Bruins' roster as early as next season, although it might be better for him to get some AHL experience with the Providence Bruins before making the jump to the NHL level.
