COVID has struck Canada again this week, this time with the Vancouver Canucks. Adam Gaudette tested positive, forcing the postponement of Wednesday’s game against Calgary and when Travis Hamonic’s test turned up positive, then three more games through April 6 were postponed.

Then came word that six more positive cases on the Canucks occurred with Thursday’s testing and it looks like it could be a two-week layoff for Vancouver, throwing the schedule into chaos the rest of the way.

Stay tuned.

The Bruins and Flyers each play five times this week and with Vancouver possibly not playing and if so, then Calgary only playing once, there is a definite advantage in weekly transaction leagues.

The Ducks are hoping to get John Gibson back this week, if not earlier as he has been out with an upper-body injury...He missed five games, returned on Sunday and then was sidelined once again...It is too much to ask 40-year-old Ryan Miller to carry the load and perhaps Anthony Stolarz, who won his only start on Sunday, can get in more time with Gibson on the mend...Ryan Getzlaf leads the Ducks in penalty minutes with 39...Rickard Rakell has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury and if he continues to miss games before the trade deadline, that will hurt the Ducks ability to deal him as he is likely their best trade chip at this time.
