Browns restructure another contract, clear $1.8M in salary cap space

In unsurprising news, the Cleveland Browns have restructured another contract to clear 2023 cap space in order to increase their rollover number heading into 2024. After restructuring the deals of Myles Garrett, Joel Bitonio and David Njoku, the Browns added left tackle Jedrick Wills to the list as well. This move has cleared $1.8 million in cap space.

Again, do not expect the Browns to spend much of that as they are expected to roll it over into 2024 in order to create a sustainable spending model as they continue to empty their pockets.

Wills enters his fourth season with the team and has his fifth year already guaranteed as well. The Browns are essentially spreading a bit of his 2023 cap hit into 2024, then just over $400,000 over three years after the 2024 season to create relief this year.

The Browns may not be done restructuring deals as well, so keep an eye open for that.
