Brooks Koepka’s caddie appreciation tweet lands right as Bryson DeChambeau parts ways with longtime looper

The Rocket Mortgage Classic is in a weather delay, but that didn’t mean business was slow on the PGA Tour on Thursday morning.

In a bit of breaking news, Bryson DeChambeau separated from longtime looper Tim Tucker, the man who has been on the bag for all eight of DeChambeau’s PGA Tour titles (which includes the 2020 U.S. Open). DeChambeau’s agent confirmed the parting of ways, telling Golfweek “they have mutually agreed to go their separate ways at this time.”

Minutes after that news circulated, Brooks Koepka seized the Twitter-waves to declare “caddie appreciation day” for his man, Ricky Elliott.

“Couldn’t do it without my guy Rick!” Koepka wrote. “Best friend and greatest caddie to do it!”

A follow-up tweet three minutes reaffirmed that “it just became caddie appreciation day.”

Koepka and DeChambeau, of course, have been mired in a feud that spiked after the PGA Championship. Shortly after that major ended, leaked video showed DeChambeau chirping at Koepka as he passed through the back of a camera shot and Koepka rolling his eyes.

Fans chanted “Brooksie!” in DeChambeau’s gallery at the Memorial and Koepka later offered free beer to any of those fans tossed out.

The feud was a popular line of questioning for both men at last month’s U.S. Open.
