Broncos vs. Raiders: 5 things to know about Las Vegas

Ahead of the Denver Broncos’ game against the Las Vegas Raiders this weekend, we asked Marcus Mosher of Raiders Wire five questions about Las Vegas and Sunday’s AFC West showdown. Here are our questions and Mosher’s answers!

How has Rich Bisaccia done as an interim coach?

(Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports)

He has been alright. The Raiders have definitely been more conservative under Bisaccia, but that is expected. The team has gotten off to several slow starts with him as the head coach, but that might be more to do with the roster than the coaching staff. Overall, he has been fine and has been a calming presence in the locker room. Bisaccia won’t be the head coach in 2022, but he’s doing as good of a job as you can ask for all things considered.

Zay Jones has at least seven targets in three of the last four weeks. Does that seem like a coincidence, or has he won a larger role on offense?

(Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports)

It’s been more out of necessity than anything else. The Raiders have been down big in most of their games in the second half of the season and the Raiders have had no choice but to throw the ball. And with Darren Waller out of the lineup, they’ve needed a veteran to take some of the passing game work. Jones shouldn’t be a starting receiver for any team, but he is a capable reserve player. He is perfectly fine as the No. 4 receiver on a good passing offense.

What's the Raiders' biggest weakness going into Sunday's showdown with the Broncos?

The offensive line continues to be a huge issue for the Raiders. Alex Leatherwood is coming off his best game as a pro, but the entire right side of their offensive line can be exposed. They lead the NFL in penalties and way too often, they struggle to block four-man rushes. They actually perform better when blitzed, but it’s not a unit that handles pressure very well.

If Darren Waller doesn't play again this week, would you trust Foster Moreau in fantasy football?

(Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports)

Probably not. In his last four starts, Moreau has averaged just 28.8 receiving yards per game. While he is a fantastic athlete and does see a decent amount of work, he’s just not a polished receiver at all. The Raiders have shifted their offense to feature Hunter Renfrow instead of the tight end. Unless you have no other choice, I would leave Moreau on your bench in Week 16.

What's your prediction for Sunday -- who wins and why?

If Teddy Bridgewater was playing, I think I would pick the Broncos. But with Drew Lock likely to start, I think the Raiders will probably win. Lock has not played well against the Raiders in his career and they have the pass rushers and cornerbacks that could cause some problems. Both teams are probably going to struggle to put points up on the board and the first team to score 17 points will probably win this game. This is likely going to be an ugly, low-scoring game. But I am going with the Raiders to win, 17-15.
