Should the Broncos trade for Bucs WR Mike Evans?

Mike Evans is in a contract dispute with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and with the regular season quickly approaching, a resolution is needed.

Last week, Evans’ representatives decided to take a step forward and imposed a contract extension deadline of September 9th. If the Buccaneers can’t accommodate the extension, Evans will look elsewhere in 2024.

But if Evans were to look for a trade to another team, should the Denver Broncos aim to trade for the star wide receiver? In his nine seasons with Tampa Bay, Evans has accumulated nine consecutive one-thousand-yard seasons and, at age 30, still has much in the tank.

With the Broncos only having four wide receivers on the actuve roster, a trade for Evans could give quarterback Russell Wilson a star target to aim for. Add in new head coach Sean Payton and his dynamic offense — why not swing for the fences?

When September 9th comes and goes, we will see if the Broncos will look into tossing their hat into the Mike Evans sweepstakes.
