Broncos’ order of picks for 2024 NFL draft

After acquiring quarterback Russell Wilson and head coach Sean Payton in consecutive offseasons, the Denver Broncos did not have a first- or second-round pick going into the 2023 NFL draft over the weekend.

The Broncos did trade up in the second round to select wide receiver Marvin Mims, and the team came away from the draft with five new rookies.

With Wilson now on board and no more picks involved in that trade set to change hands, Denver is set to have seven picks in the 2024 NFL draft next spring.

Yes, it’s early — the list is subject to change if the Broncos make additional trades this year — but this is where Denver stands for the draft in 2024.

Round 1: own pick
Round 3: own or via Saints* (Sean Payton trade)
Round 4: own or via Dolphins** (Bradley Chubb trade)
Round 5: own pick
Round 5: via Jets (Jacob Martin trade)
Round 7: own pick
Round 7: via Rams (Kenny Young trade)

*The Broncos traded a 2024 third-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks to trade up for cornerback Riley Moss during the 2023 draft. It’s yet to be determined if Denver will send its original third-round pick or the third-round selection it acquired from the New Orleans Saints to Seattle.

**The Broncos traded a 2024 fourth-round pick to the New York Jets in 2022 in exchange for pass rusher Jacob Martin and a 2024 fifth-round pick. It’s unclear if Denver traded its own pick or the Miami Dolphins’ pick for Martin.

The Broncos’ original second-round pick was traded to the Saints as part of the deal to acquire the rights to coach Sean Payton this spring. The team’s original sixth-round pick was traded to the Los Angeles Rams as part of a late-round swap in the Kenny Young trade in 2021.

So after a sparse draft in 2023, Denver will return to having a more normal set of picks in 2024, including (barring another trade), a first-round pick for the first time since 2021.
