The Denver Broncos are in the process of lining up interviews for their head coaching vacancy, and Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy ranks among the names on general manager George Paton's list of candidates to replace Vic Fangio, who was fired Sunday.

According to a person with knowledge of the situation, the Broncos have asked for permission to interview Bieniemy. Denver also has asked for an interview with Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, another person confirmed.

Both people spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to comment on the process.

Bieniemy has helped direct one of the most prolific offenses in the league for the last four seasons. He interviewed for multiple head coaching jobs the last two offseasons.

Hackett is in his third season as Matt LaFleur's right-hand man and drew interest for some head coaching positions last offseason as well.

Because the Packers have a bye, Hackett can interview this week. He also has drawn interest from Jacksonville.

Bieniemy's Chiefs play against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday in a wild-card matchup, so NFL rules prohibit candidates in such a situation from interviewing until after their first playoff game.

Denver also requested with an interview with Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, a person with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to disclose details about an ongoing coaching search.

According to multiple reports, Denver also asked to speak with Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and New England Patriots linebackers coach Jerod Mayo.
