Broncos head coach Vance Joseph says Colts' snow game footage is useless

NFL coaches are known for obsessively sifting through game tape to gain a competitive advantage. However, as first-year Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph prepares for Indianapolis this week, he won’t have the luxury of using the Colts’ most recent game film.

In one of the most intense all-time blizzards the league has seen, Indy – and especially kicker Adam Vinatieri – endured a true whiteout game in its 13-7 overtime loss in Buffalo on Sunday.

While speaking with the media Tuesday, Joseph, noting that the Colts were also wearing all-white uniforms, told reporters: “We pulled it out of our breakdown. … I mean you can’t see anything.”

The 45-year-old coach added: “I watched about 15 plays and I couldn’t see anything, so I turned it off.”

Even if the footage offered a slight reprieve from the snow, it wouldn’t offer much from a scouting perspective. The Colts ran the ball on 20 of their first 21 plays, not attempting a pass in the first quarter, which is the first and only time this season that has happened. In fact, for the game, quarterback Jacoby Brissett completed just 11 passes for a paltry 69 yards.

The 4-9 Broncos will travel to Indianapolis to play the 3-10 Colts for “Thursday Night Football” in Week 15.
