Breaking: Former Notre Dame quarterback Tyler Buchner reunites with Tommy Rees

It looks like Alabama head coach Nick Saban has a thing for Notre Dame quarterbacks.

Saban first brought former Irish quarterback and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees to Alabama. Now Saban has gone back to South Bend for a current quarterback, Tyler Buchner.

The now former Notre Dame quarterback entered the transfer portal a few days ago and quickly made his decision, Buchner has committed to the Crimson Tide.

After the spring practices were concluded, it seemed like Saban and Rees weren’t too happy about their quarterbacks performances. When Buchner entered the portal, it seemed like a match due to his familiarity with Rees’ offense even though the door was left open for a return to the Irish.

You have to wonder what will happen this fall, as it looks like Buchner, Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson will battle it out for the starting position.

As for the Irish, it leaves them very thin at quarterback and you have to wonder if head coach Marcus Freeman will look to the portal to find some experienced depth.
