Branson steals win at Neosho

Feb. 2—Branson held a 9-point advantage at the break Friday night at Neosho High School.

The Wildcats (5-13) cut into it but weren't able to complete the comeback in the second half as the Pirates (10-10) sealed a 58-54 victory.

The scoreboard showed 31-22 in favor of Branson at halftime, but Neosho won the third quarter 14-12 to make it a more manageable deficit entering the fourth.

The Wildcats closed the game even more with their 18-point frame, but it wasn't enough to overcome the early hole.

Ty Harris led the way with 17 points, and Kaiden Asberry tallied 12 more. Brodie Arthur registered 10 points off the bench for Neosho.

The visiting team was led by junior Jayce Culver with 24 points and senior Nolan Toliver with 18.

Neosho heads to Joplin (3-18) for a 7:30 p.m. tip Tuesday.
