Bradley Beal set to return from health protocols Wednesday vs. Thunder

Beal set to return from health protocols Wednesday vs. Thunder originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Washington Wizards star shooting guard Bradley Beal is set to return to the lineup tonight vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder after missing five games due to health and safety protocols followed by reconditioning.

Beal last appeared for the Wizards during an ugly 42-point home loss to the Brooklyn Nets. He was placed in health and safety protocols after that game, but Washington ended up playing well despite missing their best player.

Over the five games Beal missed, the Wizards went 4-1 including a four-game winning streak, which they will take with them into Beal’s return game on Wednesday. Kristaps Porzingis had been the workhorse of Washington’s hot streak, but superb play from role players like Deni Avdija, Rui Hachimura, and Corey Kispert among others kept the Wizards’ streak alive.

Backup point guard Delon Wright (hamstring) will be the only Wizard sidelined due to injury tonight, with his timetable to return still unclear.

Beal’s return could mean diminishing minutes for Jordan Goodwin, however. Goodwin, a former G-Leaguer who is on a two-way contract, had played extremely well of late in Beal’s absence.
