The Wizards are in Orlando, FL playing out the rest of their season without star guard Bradley Beal because he was dealing with minor rotator cuff injury, the team said, late in training camp. But it sounds like the injury rehab is going very well, as Beal explained on Wizards Pregame Live on Sunday afternoon.

"The shoulder is great. The shoulder has been really well," Beal said. "Every single day we've been putting in the work and strengthening it. It's getting better, man."

Beal, 27, said he has been working with team trainer Carlos Bustamante, who stayed back from the team's trip to Disney World with the assignment to oversee Beal's recovery. Beal didn't get into details about what his rehab process is like, but with months until the 2020-21 season is expected to start, it is likely scaled down from what he was doing just weeks ago.

Beal believes he has already made good progress.

"I'm in the right direction and the right path, so just staying on my regimen and staying on my routine and just taking it one day at a time," he said.

Beal's injury is not considered serious and did not require surgery. As general manager Tommy Sheppard pointed out when the news broke, Beal was able to average 30.5 points this season while dealing with it. He first suffered the injury in November in a game against the Phoenix Suns

While out, Beal said he has been texting regularly with members of the team. He said center Thomas Bryant has been reaching out to him after every game for insight.

For now, that's all Beal can do to help the Wizards. But as long as his shoulder recovers well, he should be set up for another strong season with the Wizards this fall.
