Marcus Morris once quipped “Ain’t no trouble like Philly trouble.” His Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens is starting to learn what that means.

A Philly native, Morris has been repping his Philadelphia Eagles fandom all throughout the lead up to the Super Bowl. What started as the big man just wearing Eagles jerseys around the locker room and in interviews has morphed into a bit more active trolling as kickoff nears.

Which doesn’t exactly sit well with Stevens, seeing as how it’s the New England Patriots who are opposing Philadelphia on Sunday.

So when Morris interrupted Stevens’ post-game news conference on Friday night with a short rendition of “Fly Eagles Fly,” the coach wasn’t having it.

“He’ll be suspended for the foreseeable future,” Stevens joked after beating the Atlanta Hawks, 119-110.

That might be the most lenient punishment Morris gets this week. Being a fan of a New England opponent — especially in the Super Bowl — is a dangerous game to play with Bostonians, and according to Morris, they haven’t been too quiet about voicing their displeasure with his fandom.

On the other hand, if the Eagles pull off the impossible and beat the Patriots, you can bet Morris will never let Boston forget it.

We’ll just have to see how serious Stevens is about that suspension come Sunday night.
