Boys soccer roundup: CMCS rallies to beat Little Falls
Sep. 18—BELLE PRAIRIE — The Central Minnesota Christian boys soccer team used a strong second half to beat Little Falls on Monday at the Belle Prairie Athletic Complex.
CMCS scored two second-half goals to beat the Flyers, 2-1.
"The first half wasn't pretty for us," CMCS head coach Emily Van Eps said. "However, we really cleaned things up in the second half and started finding feet, moving the ball and creating more scoring opportunities."
The Bluejays tied things up when Josh Versteeg scored at 58:15.
"Josh Versteeg had a breakaway in the second half and he did a great job keeping his composure for the goal," Van Eps said. "This really helped boost the team's confidence and energy."
Moses DeGroot then got CMCS the lead at 75:16.
"Moses DeGroot found another good goal with less than five minutes left in the half to seal the win," Van Eps said.
CMCS next plays St. John's Prep at 5 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph.
