My goal since introducing the Yahoo! Sports boxing pound-for-pound poll last summer has been for it to become the sport's equivalent of the Associated Press polls in college football and college basketball.
To do that requires the best voters and I believe I have an outstanding panel representing all corners of the globe.
I've added long-time New York Times and New York Daily News boxing writer Michael Katz, who currently writes for Boxingscene.com, and long-time broadcaster Rich Marotta to this month's panel.
Other voters this month in addition to myself were Kieran Mulvaney of Reuters; Thomas Gerbasi of MaxBoxing.com; Robert Morales of the Los Angeles Daily News; Ted Lerner, a freelance boxing writer based in The Philippines; Scott Fyfe, boxing writer at the Sunday Post in Scotland; Keith Idec, the boxing writer for New Jersey Herald News/The Record; Franklin McNeil, the boxing writer for the Newark Star-Ledger; George Willis, the boxing writer at the New York Post; Lee Groves of MaxBoxing.com; Raul Alzaga, columnist at Primera Hora in Puerto Rico; Carlos Arias, the boxing writer at the Orange County Register; Marty Mulcahey of MaxBoxing.com; Ron Borges of The Sweet Science; Gunnar Meinhardt of Die Welt in Germany; Scott Mallon, the boxing writer at the Phuket Gazette in Thailand; Dave Cokin, radio talk show host in Las Vegas; Steve Kim of MaxBoxing.com; Tim Smith of the New York Daily News; and Brian Doogan of the London Sunday Times.
What are your thoughts on this month's Top 10? Let us know what you think.
