Boston Shelley named national champion; sister Aubrey finishes runner-up

Feb. 24—Boston Shelley, a local archer with the Impact Archery Club in Williamsburg, was recently named the Shoot Out Series National Champion.

Boston competed on February 16, at the TSO National Championship in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

The top 10 archers were invited to the event and seeded in a head-to-head, winner stands, Vegas style shootoff.

Boston earned the No. 1 seed for the highest overall score throughout the season. He faced off against Blake Garrett, an Alabama native, in the final round. Shelley defeated Garrett 95-91 to win the buckle and the title of National Champion.

His younger sister, Aubrey, competed in the female division as the No. 3 seed. She won her first match against the No. 4 seed 93-67, upset the No. 2 seed 86-85, and finally fell to the No. 1 seed in the final round by a score of 91-84, being named national runner-up.

During the 2024 season, Boston also placed first in all five regional tournaments throughout Kentucky, and won the Kentucky State Championship.
