Blues acquire F Soshnikov from Maple Leafs

The St. Louis Blues acquired forward Nikita Soshnikov from the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 2019 fourth-round draft pick Thursday.

Soshnikov was held scoreless in three appearances for the Maple Leafs this season. He had 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in 19 games with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

The 24-year-old averaged just over 10 minutes of ice time per game in 56 contests last season and had five goals and four assists.

Soshnikov was placed on injured reserve on Dec. 12 with a lower-body injury and has missed 28 games as a result of the ailment.

With the trade, the Maple Leafs now hold eight picks in the 2019 NHL Draft.
