Blue Christmas service to be held Wednesday evening at Gateway Church
WOOSTER − Blue Christmas, A Service of Hope and Healing, will be held 7-8:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14 at Gateway Church, 2023 Portage Road.
The Christmas season for many means decorations, laughter, and celebration.
However, this time of year can be difficult for some, particularly for those grieving the loss of a loved one or for those experiencing the aching void of loneliness.
Gateway Church and Salem Mennonite Church will offer a Blue Christmas service to provide a safe space for comfort and healing.
"Whether you’re grieving the loss of a loved one, experiencing a long night of disappointment, or carrying the weight of painful memories, we invite you to pause to be present with us on this night," a news release states.
The evening will consist of a candlelight worship space, soft music, prayers, poetry, times of stillness, scripture reading, journaling, and communion.
This space is open to anyone in the community who is seeking time for reflection and community during this holiday season.
