UConn quarterback Casey Cochran has a mullet and a mustache and is awesome

"Business in the front, party in the back."

Such is the description for the mullet, a hairstyle made famous in the '80s noted for its, shall we say, distinctive look. But thanks to Casey Cochran, the University of Connecticut's redshirt sophomore quarterback, the mullet has returned in 2014. Named as the starter by UConn head coach Bob Diaco this week, Cochran unveiled his retro 'do (along with a mustache last seen on an extra in "Miami Vice") during a press conference. Needless to say, it caused quite a stir.

The old school appearance made us ponder some of the great mullets in football history. Former member of the New York Sack Exchange Mark Gastineau donned one as a member of the Jets. And who could forget noted NFL bust Brian "The Boz" Bosworth's shaggy mane? In recent years, five-time Pro Bowler Jared Allen has fashioned the look, noting, "The mullet isn't just a hairstyle. It's a way of life." But Cochran is the lone quarterback of the bunch. Let's hope he doesn't go to the barber before the Huskies' season opener Aug. 29 against Brigham Young.
