Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask doesn't pull any punches. That was evident during a conversation with NBC reporter Pierre McGuire following a Game 3 victory in the Stanley Cup Final last season. He's also pretty fiery. That was evident following a 3-2 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues.
Blues center Derek Roy beat Rask in the fourth round of the shootout to clinch the victory. That's when the fun started (cue to the 3:05 mark). Rask slammed his stick repeatedly on the ice — but failed to break it each time. And he wasn't the only person who had an embarrassing moment on the ice this week.
Taking one for the (news) team
Little did Fox 9 Morning News reporter M.A. Rosko know she would make the blooper reel when she hit the frozen stuff. But that's exactly what happened to the intrepid journalist out of Minneapolis. While skating backwards at the John Rose Minnesota Oval in Roseville, Minn., Rosko faceplanted during her live shot. She brushed off the painful moment like a champ, though, and went on to discuss the rink's Zamboni production.
No dunking allowed
The New Orleans Saints beat the Atlanta Falcons 17-13 Thursday night to kick off Week 12 of the NFL. And you would think with Tony Gonzalez on its roster, Atlanta would make sure the Georgia Dome goal posts would hold up for those goofy dunk attempts basketball players-turned-tight ends do when scoring touchdowns. Not so much. When Drew Brees hooked up with Jimmy Graham for a 44-yard score, Graham's "dunk" attempt bent the goal. That caused a brief delay while a stadium worker fixed it.
Not so Super, man
Finally, Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard was reminded you're not allowed to throw the ball into the stands. Howard was given a technical foul and fined $25,000 for tossing the orange at a heckler during a 123-120 loss to Dallas.
