If you fancy yourself a pretty quick typist, try this: open up a new window in your browser and see how fast it takes you to search for the "fastest goal in MLS history." Even with a good Wi-Fi connection, fast fingers and a predictive search engine that can seemingly read your mind — ah, the joys of auto-complete — you'd probably be hard-pressed to obtain the answer within seven seconds. Which is remarkable considering it only took New York Red Bulls forward Tim Cahill that amount of time to score after the opening kick against the Houston Dynamo. Seven seconds. It's hard to imagine that such a feat could be possible considering all 11 defenders were positioned between the ball and their own net when the whistle blew to start the match. But two quick passes and a blistering 20-yard strike from Cahill later and MLS history had been rewritten. The announcers, like the Dynamo, barely had time to react it happened so fast. The previous record was held by Dwayne De Rosario, who scored 11 seconds into a game in 2003. De Rosario was probably equally stunned to see Cahill do it faster. The Red Bulls would go on to win the match 3-0.

Finally, in his highly anticipated return to Lucas Oil Stadium, Peyton Manning received a standing ovation from the Indianapolis faithful before the game. The spotlight would be all his — until kickoff. That's when Andrew Luck, the young man drafted to fill Manning's shoes, took control. Luck threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as the Indianapolis Colts topped the Denver Broncos 39-33, giving Denver its first loss.
