Jeff Van Gundy takes shot at Derrick Rose

Jeff Van Gundy has never been one to hold back his opinion. The former New York Knicks and Houston Rockets head coach and current NBA analyst on ESPN went off on Dwight Howard last season and is known for his sarcastic humor. So when the broadcaster dropped a somewhat insensitive — albeit humorous — comment regarding the health of Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose during Sunday's Knicks-Bulls game, it wasn't really surprising. Funny? Yes. Shocking? Not in the least.

As the TV cameras spotted Rose hanging out in the tunnel while holding his son PJ, Van Gundy gushed about how adorable the oft-injured player's offspring was. Then he dropped this zinger. "I hope he has better knees than his dad." Uh-oh! Of course, Rose is currently recovering from a torn meniscus in his right knee after missing all of last season due to an ACL injury in his left knee. As for the game, the Bulls beat the Knicks 109-90.

Bear down

Moving to college hoops, No. 3 Arizona took a step closer to potentially locking down a No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats beat Stanford 79-66 to clinch the Pac-12 regular season title.

Finally in golf, Paula Creamer sunk a 75-foot eagle putt on the second playoff hole to claim the HSBC Women's Champions title in Singapore. It was her first LPGA Tour victory since winning the 2010 U.S. Women's Open.
