Brandon Bass acts to resuscitate Rajon Rondo

In 2010, the guidelines for CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) shifted to prioritize the use of chest compressions before beginning mouth-to-mouth. Boston Celtics forward Brandon Bass seems to have gotten the memo (perhaps to accompany his first swim lesson at age 28). When teammate Rajon Rondo landed roughly on his back in the second quarter against the 76ers Wednesday night and laid still, Bass was the first responder. Acting swiftly — and acting may be the operative word here — the 6-foot-8 Bass leaned over to administer some chest compressions on his point guard. While he didn't demonstrate perfect technique (the American Heart Association teaches you to interlock fingers prior to compressing, for starters) Bass seemed to deliver a couple invigorating thrusts into the chest of Rondo, who popped up with a smile moments later before any additional care or mouth-to-mouth was necessary.

Tide roll to recruiting title

Much to the chagrin of the nation's other elite programs, this marks the fourth consecutive year that Nick Saban and his coaching staff have secured the top recruiting class.
