Brodie Smith's Twitter bio reads "Frisbee Trick Shots, Pro Ultimate Player and living the Darkhorse Life." We're not sure what "the Darkhorse Life" is all about. But after seeing him pull off "The Bat Shot", the dudes from Dude Perfect better watch their back.

The frisbee phenom attempted to hit a disc with an aluminum baseball bat into a basketball hoop some hundred feet away from him at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium (where Michael Jordan played minor baseball once upon a time) in Hoover, Ala., on Thursday. Wearing a Rajon Rondo Boston Celtics jersey and standing on the concourse down the third-base line, Smith unleashed his attempt at trick shot immortality. We don't know how many attempts it took Smith to pull off a successful shot - but kudos to the kid for coming up with one of the most creative uses of various sporting goods ever seen.

Moving to another kind of Kidd, new Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd simply up and walked out of the gym during his team's NBA Summer League game to take a phone call. The Nets were trailing 17-2 at the time and eventually lost to the Houston Rockets 92-76.

And Derek Jeter returned to the New York Yankees lineup for the first time since fracturing his left ankle during the playoffs last season. He went 1-for-4 but had to leave the game early against the Kansas City Royals with tightness in his right quad. The Yankees won 8-4.
