Ben Roethlisberger stars for fantasy owners everywhere... on the bench.

As it goes in fantasy football, sometimes we make the right moves, and sometimes we don’t. All I’ve heard in the past 24 hours is how poor of a fantasy owner I am for leaving Ben Roethlisberger and his 44 fantasy points on the bench. But would anyone really have started him against Indianapolis? And do we start him now?
Let’s look at his season so far. In four of the Steelers’ eight games, Roethlisberger has recorded one or zero touchdowns. Just once has he thrown for three scores (against the tough-luck Bucs in Week 4), but that was nearly negated by his five sacks in the three-point loss. His fantasy totals are hard to trust. Some weeks he puts nearly 20 points, others seven. And while the Jets matchup in Week 10 might be a quality bye-week fill-in, that’s not a sure thing.
So, No. Now is NOT the time to rest your fantasy hopes on the broad shoulders of Big Ben. His inconsistency will haunt us as fantasy owners – just like those throwback jerseys will haunt the Colts secondary for the rest of this week.
