Power rankings: Nadal heads back to clay

Rafael Nadal described his last match as an "unbelievable disaster," but the world No. 1 didn't have to wait long for things to look up.

A return to the red clay of Europe is enough to put an instant smile on the face of the Spaniard, already arguably the finest player ever on that surface.

His Miami loss to Juan Martin Del Potro should be long forgotten by the end of this week's Monte Carlo Masters.

Roger Federer's blowup in Miami drops him a spot, while Novak Djokovic rises three places in the Yahoo! Sports men's rankings after his run to the Key Biscayne final. (Prior ranking listed in parentheses.)

1. (1) Rafael Nadal: Hard to see him losing on his favorite surface

2. (2) Andy Murray: Miami champ has the best record on tour in 2009

3. (6) Novak Djokovic: Returned to form by beating Federer in Miami

4. (3) Roger Federer: Newly married legend is looking for a revival

5. (-) Juan Martin Del Potro: Big win over Nadal two weeks ago

6. (4) Andy Roddick: Missing Monte Carlo amid wedding rumors

7. (5) Fernando Verdasco: Aiming to end the year in the top five

8. (7) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga: Continuing his solid 2009 form
