Game Point: Ivanovic gets first tournament win since 2008

Game Point is Busted Racquet's roundup of facts, figures and links from around the web.

Love -- On Sunday, Ana Ivanovic defeated Patty Schnyder, 6-1, 6-2 to win her ninth career title in Linz, Austria. It was the first victory for the former world No. 1 since 2008 and came only after she earned a wild card to the event following Serena Williams' withdrawal.

15 -- Ivanovic won in 47 minutes, the quickest final of the year and only the third to finish in under an hour.

30 -- The victory continues the progress Ivanovic has made since she brought on former Steffi Graf coach, Heinz Gunthardt, to her team. In May, I asked whether Ivanovic had gotten her groove back. Four months later, coach Patrick Mouratoglou analyzed what changes Ivanovic had brought to her game. Heading into August, Ivanovic had a 12-14 record for the year. Since then, she's 16-5.

40 -- In July, Ivanovic's ranking dipped to No. 65. On Monday, she rose to No. 26. The last time Ivanovic won a tournament (Linz, 2008), she was ranked No. 4 in the world.

Game -- Maybe eating yogurt before a match isn't such a bad idea after all.
