Andy Roddick isn't the only tennis player with a reason to go buy multiple copies of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic is featured in the annual magazine, which features Roddick's wife, Brooklyn Decker, on the cover.
Ivanovic is one of a number of athletes to pose for the issue. Skier Lindsey Vonn also is in the magazine, which hits newstands Wednesday, four days before Vonn will begin competing in the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
SI published 45 pictures of Ivanovic on its Web site, including this one which seems to be a pretty apt metaphor for the recent struggles the 22-year old Serbian.
It was just 19 months ago that Ivanovic was No. 1 in the world and coming off her first Grand Slam win at the French Open. Now she's ranked No. 23 and hasn't reached a Slam quarterfinal since her run in Paris. It's been a staggering fall from the top.
But, hey, we're not here to talk about tennis, we're here to talk about wearing bikinis and high heels while wrapped in a tennis net in a fashion that sort of resembles the way the Smoke Monster kills people on "Lost." If the WTA rankings incorporated the ability to pull off such things (and they're so ridiculous, who knows if they don't), Ana would still be No. 1
Bonus: To those women and men who don't appreciate the Ana swimsuit shots as much as I do, there's something for you after the jump:
