Lionel Messi produces another must-see moment in Barcelona's 2-0 win at Eibar

Barcelona prepared for its big week ahead with a hardfought 2-0 road win against gritty Eibar on Saturday. Lionel Messi made sure the Catalans would leave Basque country with all three points by scoring both goals as Barca increased its La Liga lead to four points over idle Real Madrid.

The Messi highlight of the day, however, wasn't his 31st-minute penalty or his clinching header in the 55th minute. It was another piece of Messi magic that gets taken for granted because it's become the norm from the little Argentine (trust me, we will miss these moments of footballing genius the way NBA fans miss Michael Jordan's mid-air improvisations to the hoop).

Messi made four Eibar defenders look silly on an amazing run that included a nutmeg of center back Raul Navas. Unfortunately, he chose to pass and not shoot and try and duplicate his wonder goal against Getafe.

Still, the run against Eibar is worth watching. A couple of times. With a beverage and popcorn.

Barcelona returns to the Camp Nou where it will welcome a struggling Manchester City side for the return leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie on Wednesday. City was already staring at the unenviable task of overturning a 2-1 deficit, but now the defending Premier League champions must somehow rid the bad taste of Saturday's shocking 1-0 loss at Burnley.

That midweek game is just the appetizer for the weekend feast of another El Clasico when Real Madrid pays a visit on Sunday.

How did Messi score against Eibar? Here are his goals from Saturday.
