Mexico goalkeeper Memo Ochoa put in a magnificent performance to hold Brazil to a 0-0 draw. It wasn't unthinkable that Brazil would take a step back after coming through with a 3-1 win in the tournament's intense opening match against Croatia, but it was really more Ochoa who kept them from scoring than Brazil blowing it themselves. The man was a wall and this time the referee wasn't interested in helping Brazil break through. At the same time, Mexico's attack came close to scoring themselves. The scoreline to this match was deceiving for the amount of action it contained.
Man of the Match
Guillermo Ochoa, Mexico — It was only decided that he would be Mexico's keeper just before the start of the World Cup and what an inspired decision that is proving to be. He made tremendous save after tremendous save.
Ochoa was so good that the old myth about him having six fingers on one hand resurfaced and the only people who didn't believe it were the ones who thought he had seven.
With both sides only taking a point from this game, Group A will at least remain interesting going into the final round of group play. Both Mexico and Brazil are now on four points with Brazil to face Cameroon next. It was a foregone conclusion that Brazil would finish atop this group, but not anymore.
