Ronaldinho hasn't played since he suffered a groin injury on the training ground back in September, but he did make it back for Atletico-MG's final match of the season. Playing in front of a home crowd against Vitoria, Ronaldinho scored with a well-placed free kick just before halftime to get Atletico-MG on the scoreboard after Vitoria went up 2-0 within the first six minutes of the game.

Ronaldinho celebrated his goal by holding back a smile and saluting his cheering fans. In the 89th minute, he equalized from the penalty spot, salvaging a point for his side on the final day of the season and giving himself a brace in the first match's played in three months. Not bad.

Though his return comes too late to give Atletico-MG anything more than a mid-table finish, it is well timed for the team's appearance in the FIFA Club World Cup this month. Atletico-MG will play the winner of Monterrey v Raja Casablanca or Auckland City in the semifinals on December 18. If the Copa Libertadores champions win there, it could set up a showdown against Bayern Munich and Pep Guardiola, the man who sold Ronaldinho upon taking over at Barcelona in 2008.
