Inter's Rodrigo Palacio scored the only goal of the Derby della Madonnina and provided further pain for an already downtrodden Milan side with an impressive 85th minute backheel. Palacio guided the ball past Milan keeper Christian Abbiati with his heel while he was moving away from the goal. After the match, he called it the most important goal of his career.

From Football Italia:

“It’s an important goal for Inter and the most important goal of my entire career,” La Trenza told Sky Sport Italia.

“We deserved this victory and it will give us more confidence, as derbies are always important. Now we can go on the Christmas break happy and then return to do even better.”

Milan now sit 13th in the table with just four wins in 17 matches going into the winter break. Meanwhile, Mario Balotelli proved that the boots covered in newspaper headlines about himself that he wore last week were, in fact, the work of Puma by wearing a modified version in this match.

So Milan can't win and manager Massimiliano Allegri could lose his job any day now, but Mario has a new boot sponsor. Which is something.
