This is Robin van Persie and Alexander Buttner flying to Qatar in matching Bugs Bunny pajamas

Several Man United players were pictured wearing matching Bugs Bunny pajamas on their flight to Qatar on Sunday. The reason for this is unclear. Perhaps this was the team's punishment for allowing a Clint Dempsey injury-time equalizer in their 1-1 draw against Spurs or maybe this is just cool now.

Alexander Buttner posted a picture of him and seatmate Robin van Persie in their basketball Bugs PJs on his Instagram account and simply captioned it, "Flying to Qatar" as if this is what everyone wears when they fly. Anderson, Patrice Evra and Nick Powell were also pictured wearing the same outfit and seemed to be enjoying it quite a bit more than Van Persie. Maybe he should've stayed at Arsenal after all.

Man United are traveling to Qatar for a four-day break and some warm-weather training after playing in the snow at White Hart Lane. We can only hope they wear officially licensed Looney Toons clothing the whole time.

UPDATE: Senior citizens Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs were apparently allowed to wear slightly more age-appropriate sleepwear.
