A week after Paul Scholes had his car stolen from his driveway while he was letting it defrost, Birmingham City winger Peter Lovenkrands had his £30,000 diamond encrusted Hublot watch stolen as he parked his car outside his house. The West Midlands police are now appealing for help from the public and have released a picture of a similar watch (above) to help track it down.
According to the police report, two young men with their faces covered approached Lovenkrands while he parked outside his house around 2 p.m. last Thursday. They threatened him and made him take off the watch and also tried to get his wedding ring before running away, but it wouldn't come off his finger.
Detective Sergeant Andrew O’Keeffe, from Solihull Police, said: "The watch that was stolen is very unique and we would ask anyone who is offered a watch of this kind to contact us immediately.
"Fortunately the victim was unhurt following the robbery but this was a frightening attack and we are appealing for the public’s help to find the offenders.
Perhaps footballers should hold off on buying £30,000 diamond watches until they invest in a gate and garage to better avoid having their stolen outside their houses.
