The Awkward Ashley Cole meme has delighted everyone (including Ashley Cole himself). In fact, the sight of the former Chelsea defender leaning into a photo from an unnatural distance has become so popular that other clubs are starting to include him in their team photos, as well.
League One side Peterborough United tweeted a version of their photo for the new season with a strategically photoshopped Cole.

Non-League club Lincoln City also joined the party.

It's not just other clubs trying to recreate the awkward magic of Cole's pose, though. Roma captain Francesco Totti gave it a go a couple of times when the team made a recent visit to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Given the success of this, Ashley Cole might never be allowed to pose normally for a picture with his teammates again.
