At 32 years old, England striker Rickie Lambert is suddenly having all of his boyhood dreams come true at once. The former beetroot factory worker who rose from League One to the Premier League with Southampton is about to play in his first World Cup and he's just been sold to his beloved hometown club, Liverpool. On top of all that, the move also means he will get to play in the Champions League for the first time in his career. The only way things could possibly go any better for him would be if ice cream spontaneously formed in his mouth and he could eat it all day without ever gaining weight.
Watch as Lambert expresses his overwhelming delight with his heavy Scouse accent...
Just look at the permanent smile affixed to his face upon going to the club's Melwood training complex to sign his contract...
"I'M SO HAPPY THAT THIS CONTRACT COULD SAY I HAVE TO LET KOLO TOURE LIVE IN MY HOUSE AND RENAME MY CHILD AND I WOULD STILL SIGN IT SEVERAL TIMES OVER!!!"
"I'M SO HAPPY THAT I THINK I'M STARTING TO BREAK OUT IN A HAPPINESS RASH ON MY ELBOW!!!"
"Yep, I can now use this entrance without threat of police intervention!!!"
"I have no idea what they're doing to me right now but I'm having a great time!!!"
"I just can't believe it. I saw this guy on Being: Liverpool and now he's examining me like the guys on TV!!! I wonder if he'd be willing to autograph my foot when he's done."
"THIS IS THE GREATEST MEDICAL EXAM EVER!!!!!!!!"
