Though Granada's match against Real Madrid began with the home side giving already crowned champions a pasillo de honor, it ended with bitterness and flying Powerade bottles.

Real Madrid moved to within three points of a record 100 with a 2-1 win thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty kick and a Granada own goal in the third minute of added time. The loss puts Granada on the brink of relegation, so the team confronted the officials after the match. The riot police came out to protect the officials, but one Granada player (Dani Benitez) threw a Powerade bottle at the ref, hitting him in the jaw.
